TanWall Modular Walls: Permanent or Temporary?

May 17th, 2012 TanWall No comments

The short answer is that they can be both, depending on what you need! The advantage of the type of modular walls that are used with TanWall construction is that they are flexible yet durable and sturdy so that they can either be used in temporary applications for a quick solution, or they can function as a permanent solution after they are installed.

If you are under a strict timeframe for opening a new salon and you need to get business going right away, TanWall modular walls are a great solution. The walls go up fast so you can get the salon running right away; all you need to do is think up your dream salon layout and we design it for you, then manufacture it and ship it to you, ready to be installed. Modular walls are flexible: their universal panel design allows them to be installed quickly and rearranged or removed and relocated just as easily, giving your business maximum flexibility and mobility.

Modular walls are quick and easy to set up, and just as easy to take down and relocate, which makes them great temporary solutions. But just because they make great temporary solutions doesn’t mean they’re only temporary solutions. These walls make great long term solutions as well if you are looking for a permanent salon design or even change your mind and want your salon walls to stay for a while.

We’ve talked about how sturdy these walls are. These are commercial-grade construction walls that are used in 2 story buildings. These are walls that are built to last for as long as you need them.

So whether you need a permanent solution or a temporary solution, or even if you need to switch between the two, TanWall modular walls have the versatility to function as both!

Tanner Privacy: Does TanWall Deliver?

May 3rd, 2012 TanWall No comments

In the last post, we talked about how sturdy and secure our walls are considering their flexible, versatile nature. In that post we touched a bit on tanner privacy and the fact that our walls provided excellent levels of privacy, but considering the importance of the subject, we thought we’d go more in depth on the subject.

After all, when you read in the news about peeping toms in tanning salons, you get a good idea of how traumatic the experience of being spied on is for tanners (they often report feeling violated among things), and how troublesome the whole affair is for salon owners (sometimes there are lawsuits or just having that kind of drama at the salon is never desirable), so it is a good idea to think about tanner privacy when you are building your salon.

TanWall salon walls address several of these issues and help create a secure, comfortable space for your tanners to tan. As we mentioned previously, our walls bolt securely to the floor, leaving no gaps for potential peepers to get under. Also, our walls are generally 8 ft high, making it difficult for a peeping tom to peer over the wall to catch a glimpse.

Our locking booth doors are sturdy and provide that extra sense of security for your tanners. Also, the walls themselves are solid with an insulating inner core that contributes to sound proofing so that tanners feel as if they have their own private tanning zone.

This latter point is important as well. It is not only preferable to prevent the peeping toms from crashing a tanner’s session, it is also essential that your tanners feel comfortable and secure in your tanning booths to complete the experience. Many tanners are going to be conscious of their bodies, and disrobing in a public place is always an uncomfortable experience for many people, so in order to make the tanning experience as positive as possible, it is important that you accommodate your tanners’ concerns.

We have these concerns and more in mind when it comes to the designs of our tanning salon walls. We want our clients satisfied and our tanners tanning happily and comfortably!

TanWall Construction: Is it Sturdy?

Well you already know that answer is going to be yes! But we’ve come across some products by competitors that we weren’t so sure about and we’d like to stress how important it is to know that your salon walls are going to be dependable and secure, though we don’t need to tell you that!

Consider TanWalls: our walls feature an inner core that affords superior insulation and sound proofing. You know you won’t be getting flimsy walls or plyboard stalls or anything like that; you won’t be getting thin walls that pass sounds like nothing or that could be damaged easily. You want your tanners to feel secure and private in their own personal tanning space.

So what about frames? We’ve seen salon booths with plastic frames that have been unsecured to the floor. But TanWall frames are anodized aluminum and the walls themselves are bolted into the ground on tracks. This way, you don’t have to worry about potential peeping toms peering under the gaps with their cellphones. Again, tanners want a secure personal space to tan in where they can be ensured they won’t be watched. Getting caught by a peeping tom can be a traumatizing experience and offended tanners can seek lawsuits from the various parties involved.

Bolted walls with aluminum frames gaurantee an increased sturdiness and security that isn’t found in other wall systems. And our walls are built using a modular construction process that has been refined over the course of 30 years by an actual commercial modular construction company. These modular tanning booth walls are sturdy. They are even used for 2 story buildings.

Yep, many flexible or maneuverable wall systems are often temporary or flimsy in order to be affordable and flexible. But our wall systems are sturdy and secure and are meant to be permanent solutions if needed. Or they can be moved around. Whatever is needed at the time.

So keep all that in mind when you are shopping for salon walls. There are plenty of awesome wall systems and modes of construction out there, but very few reach the combined qualities of flexibility, sturdiness, security, stylishness, and affordability that our TanWall systems demonstrate.

Various Tanning Bits to Share

The teen tanning bill is getting held up in Missouri, and it has been rejected in Idaho. And a new argument against the tan tax…the tan tax is racist? Well, probably not, but congrats for the novel argument!

But on a weird note, what is with all of the peeping toms in tanning booths in the news these days? Watch your salon!

Finally, this article showcases a big cultural difference between us and India.

Enjoy you weekend!

More March Tanning News

March 29th, 2012 TanWall No comments

We have plenty of tanning-related news and information to share this week. Among the topics you may find interesting: states considering and passing/rejecting tanning bills, tanning trends, the beginning of tanning season, and etc.

Lawmakers in Connecticut are considering a teen tanning ban, while British Colombia just announced a ban themselves (evidently Nova Scotia opted for one last year). However, a teen tanning ban was recently rejected in Maryland.

And here’s a short informative article about an alternative spray tan for those of your customers (or even yourself) that are allergic to the DHA compound in the more common spray tans. The alternate product is a bit pricier, but contains the compound erythrulose that can be used as an alternative for allergic customers.

And as the weather grows warmer, tanning season is beginning (a bit early many have noted). So tanning salons can expect spikes in business with clients coming in for base tans. And fake tan trends are on the rise as well, such as in Britain where women are buying fake tan products especially for their legs, now that the warm weather is coming in.

And that’s it for this month!
